So as I write this line I’m sitting on American Airlines flight #4109 on my way to the #YWM2016 conference. So far it’s been a good trip but interesting. Getting up early always stinks ~ and 4AM is very early for me these days. Then ~ my experience with the TSA….**disclaimer this is not a complaint they were very nice** Shout out to TSA agents at Westchester County airport✊🏻👍🏻. That being said I knew as soon as I stepped into the scan machine and she was like, ahhhhh ummmm let’s try that again lol.
Needless to say the machine was picking up my feeding tube and what fun we had. We had to do the machine three times, then I had to pull my pants up like Steve Urkle and run my hands over my belly and then test strip my hands. After that SHE had to do the same with HER hands, and the supervisor dude came and joined us for the party.
I offered to just pull my tube out and show her ~ she kept freaking out like “no no no and covering her eyes”. I was rolling, but now I know what it’s like to travel with a tube hanging out yer body and in the future I WILL allow 2 hours 🙈😂😂
So this plane is a rickshaw 😱, my seat mate is nice and smells good (bonus) 🤗, we are flying so low the clouds are still well above us 😲 and we should be landing soon. Next stop is grab my bag, find the super shuttle counter and catch my ride to the Grand. I decided to blog now so I can just post it later ~ I really want to keep a record of my trip!
Side note, IDK how it is with other airlines/airports but AA @ HPN ~ if I CHECKED my bag at the counter $25 fee.
I carried it to the Tarmack myself ~ they hand me a red free valet ticket and take it from me anyways (no charge) cuz on THIS rickshaw the bags have to go in the belly of the plane ~ I’m SO glad I didn’t pay to check it 😂😂.
Well it’s now 11 PM day one ~ a long but GREAT day. Got to hotel checked in, registered for conference, did a 4 hour advocacy training and lots of visiting etc. Some amazing people out here, but I’m exhausted and 5 am comes early…so it’s goodnight for now…Thanks for reading ~ be back soon!
